Where can we make a difference
McLouth Steel NPL Superfund Site
Sites like Hazelwood Green in Pittsburgh, and First State Crossing in Claymont, Delaware prove that Steel Mills can be cleaned up to residential levels - so it’s up to us to make sure the Environmental Protection Agency does the job right. Attending the McLouth Steel Community Advisory Group (CAG) can make sure the project is cleaned up right - per the EPA, “A CAG can assist EPA in making better decisions on how to clean up a site.”

Riverview Land Preserve (Landfill)
Landfills don’t belong near homes. They create nonpoint source pollution, which the EPA considers “the greatest source of water-quality degradation” - in part because it’s difficult to measure.
The Riverview Landfill is within a few hundred feet of homes - and Wayne County is considering allowance for an expansion.
It shouldn’t be expanded - it should be closed and replaced. To learn about why it should, and how we can make it happen:
DTE Energy Trenton Channel Power Plant/Sibley Landfill
The Trenton Channel power plant is closing in 2022 - and we need a plan to make sure we can move forward with environmentally sustainable development. We don’t want the Sibley Quarry Landfill to be a dumping site for contaminated waste.
We’ll make sure to keep you updated on how to get involved when this project transitions. To learn more about this site:
