McLouth Steel Rezoning
MWA was formed in October of 2020 following the outpouring of support that came from resident-led protests to make sure our waterfront wasn’t changed from mixed-use to heavy industrial zoning. The Trenton city council was inspired by this movement to change Industrial Waterfront Zoning to Waterfront Revitalization.
Riverview Landfill Expansion Pause
The Riverview landfill filed an expansion request in 2017, and again in 2020 - and residents showed up and made it clear to Wayne County that they want healthier and more resilient development. Now that the expansion is paused again due to resident input, we’re working with the City of Riverview to come up with a transition plan that will benefit residents
Public Education and Awareness
We know how to meet people - from engaging thousands through street fair booths and community events, effective social media advertising, and leaving literature at doors, we make sure residents are informed and know how to make their voice and input matter.
